Glendale 100: Glendale Public Library Centennial CelebrationCelebrate our library's 100 years as a part of the City of Glendale with a series of special programming focusing on the history of libraries in the United States, as well as our Arizona heritage. From September 2022 –May 2023, we’ll feature children’s programs, adult lectures, artistry workshops for all ages, a reading program for children and teens, and more.

Come kick things off on Saturday, September 10, from 12-4:30 p.m. at the Main Library with an afternoon of fun for the entire family! Festivities begin at 1 p.m. Enjoy tall tales, cowboy poetry, and music from Singing Cowboy Gary Sprague and his horse Dusty (1:30-2:15 p.m.); bluegrass from Cisco and the Racecars (2:30-3:15 p.m.); and dancing from Ballet Folklorico Esperanza (3:30-4:30 p.m.). The Bookmans Phoenix Musical Instrument Petting Zoo in the Storytime Room, a library scavenger hunt, and Library Card Sign-up Month promotions will be available throughout the event.

This program is held in partnership with Special Events and LiVE! @ Murphy Park. Glendale 100 programs are supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
