Old Friends by George LundeenThe Velma Teague Library, located east of the City Hall Complex in the heart of historic downtown Glendale, is the oldest of the four existing Glendale Public Library locations. Visitors are greeted by the bronze statue of Old Friends by George Lundeen.

We offer books, music, movies, video games, and even hiking backpacks to check out with your library card. We also offer a youth play and learning area, a teens-only space, computers, free Wi-Fi access, areas to recharge your laptops and mobile devices, and an array of free classes, storytimes and special events for all ages.

Since the library is situated in the middle of Murphy Park, it is surrounded by the sparkling lights of Glendale Glitters during the winter holidays, lots of candy during February's Chocolate Affaire, and the sounds of the Glendale Summer Band playing in the E. Lowell Rogers Amphitheatre in June and July.

Our signature events include Free Comic Book Day @ the Velma Teague Library with Drawn to Comics in May, Halloween Comic Fest @ the Velma Teague Library with Drawn to Comics in October, and LIBCON West.
