Free Comic Book Day at the Library - Saturday, May 7, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.Bookstores and libraries, just like superheroes, can do great things when they team up! Drawn to Comics, downtown Glendale's source for comic books, gaming, and collectibles, is proud to partner with the Velma Teague Library on Saturday, May 7, to bring you another exciting Free Comic Book Day experience!

Activities for all ages will take place inside the Velma Teague Library (7010 N. 58th Ave.) and outside in the surrounding Murphy Park from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., as well as inside the Drawn to Comics store located across the street (5801 W. Glendale Ave.) from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Enjoy local artists, crafts, games, cosplay, and, of course, free comics galore! 

Meet select comic book artists and vendors both inside the library and outside in Murphy Park. Guests include Livio Ramondelli, Mike Debalfo, Doc Vaughn, Marissa Pope, Andy Vogel, Jose A. Guillen, Russ Kazmierczak, Adonnis Blake, Andy Carreon, Albert Morales, David Quiroz Jr., Birdie Birdashaw, Sean Sautter, Joe Newcomer, and Kevin Ciapparelli. Buy custom creations from Ken’s Buttons. Snack your way through downtown Glendale’s delicious Restaurant Crawl – find out more at https://bit.ly/fcbdfoodcrawl2022. Enjoy live medieval combat demonstrations by the Kingdom of Umbria, right outside the library in Murphy Park. Help your kids craft their own easy “Eggstraordinary Superhero.”  Compete in the Super Smash Bros. tournament hosted by Umbrella Corporation Arizona Hive. Pose for photo ops with local cosplayers. Feel free to wear your own costume!

Dating back to 2002, Free Comic Book Day is an annual event held on the first Saturday in May, during which participating comic book specialty shops across North America and around the world give away exclusive comic books for free to showcase the industry. For the past decade, Drawn to Comics has created a local festival that attracts over 2000 fans.
